TravelTank Marks Five Years, Expands Services to Make Travel More Accessible to Nigerians
Nigerian travel company, is marking its fifth anniversary with an expanded portfolio of travel services, a growing customer base and industry recognition, reinforcing its position as a homegrown brand working to make travel more accessible to Nigerians.
Founded five years ago to address the challenges faced by Nigerians seeking reliable travel guidance and booking options, TravelTank has evolved from a flight-ticketing business into a broader travel company offering hotel reservations, holiday packages, visa assistance, airport protocol services, lounge access, car hire and transfers.
The company鈥檚 growth reflects its commitment to helping travellers make informed decisions, navigate travel requirements and access options suited to their needs and budgets.
Speaking on the milestone, Yemi Smith, CEO and Founder of TravelTank, said the company鈥檚 journey had reinforced the importance of building a travel business around customer needs and long-term value.
鈥淭he travel industry has taught us that entering the market is one thing; building something that lasts is another. Five years later, we are still serving the people we set out to serve and investing in the future of travel,鈥 Smith said.
Over the past five years, TravelTank has broadened its services to support different aspects of the travel journey, from flight bookings and accommodation to visa guidance and ground transportation.
The company now provides access to inventory from more than 100 airlines and serves travellers visiting over 120 destinations, giving customers a wider range of choices when planning their journeys.
Its growth has also extended beyond its digital platform. From its Victoria Island base, TravelTank has expanded its physical presence to Ikeja, bringing its services closer to customers on the mainland and catering to travellers who prefer face-to-face assistance.
At its Ikeja office, customers can engage directly with the company鈥檚 Travel Sharks for personalised guidance and support, while its website remains available for customers who prefer to research and complete bookings online.
The company also offers seasonal discounts on selected travel services for walk-in customers, as part of efforts to encourage greater engagement and make travel planning more accessible.
TravelTank鈥檚 fifth anniversary comes amid growing recognition of its contribution to Nigeria鈥檚 travel industry.
The company has recorded significant volume milestones with major airlines operating in the Nigerian market, reflecting the scale of its operations and its relationships across the travel ecosystem.
At Akwaaba African Travel Market 2026, TravelTank was recognised among the Top 100 Tour Operators, highlighting its contribution to the development of travel and tourism in Nigeria.
Its founder, Yemi Smith, was also named among the Top Under 40 Travel CEOs, recognising a new generation of industry leaders contributing to the sector鈥檚 growth.
These recognitions underscore the role of homegrown travel businesses in expanding consumer choice, strengthening industry partnerships and supporting the development of Nigeria鈥檚 tourism and travel ecosystem.
Behind TravelTank鈥檚 growth is a team that has expanded considerably since the company鈥檚 early days.
What began with a 糖心视频 Development and Affiliate Lead has grown into a workforce of more than 30 Travel Sharks, supporting customers and driving the company鈥檚 expanding operations.
Its digital community has also grown from approximately 1,000 followers in its early years to more than 20,000, providing a platform for sharing travel information, destination inspiration, deals and practical guidance with Nigerian travellers.
As TravelTank enters its sixth year, the company plans to build on its achievements by expanding its services, strengthening customer experience and deepening relationships with airlines, hotels and other industry partners.
At the heart of its journey remains a founding belief that travel should not be limited by a lack of information, guidance or access to suitable options.
For TravelTank, five years of growth represent not just a business milestone, but a continued commitment to making travel possible for more Nigerians.
