NECLive 2026 to Explore聽Nigeria鈥檚 Home Advantage

Vanessa Obioha

For its 11th edition, NECLive, an annual entertainment and creative industry conference, will have discussions on how Nigeria can turn the strength of its domestic market into greater creative ownership, investment and global influence.

The conference, organised by BHM, ID Africa and the editorial board of Nigerian Entertainment Today, will be held under the theme, 鈥淗ome Advantage: Transforming Local Demand into Global Power.鈥

The theme shifts attention from the global reach of Nigerian music, film and digital content to the opportunities within the country鈥檚 growing home market.

With millions of Nigerians consuming locally produced entertainment and creative content, NECLive 2026 will examine how this demand can translate into stronger businesses, investment and sustainable value for creators and other players across the industry.

The conference will also consider challenges including purchasing power, audience growth, monetisation, affordability and the sector鈥檚 dependence on diaspora markets.

According to NECLive Founder and Convener, Ayeni Adekunle, Nigeria鈥檚 growing global creative presence presents an opportunity to build stronger industries at home.

鈥淣igeria has already demonstrated that its creative industries can capture the world鈥檚 attention. The next opportunity is to understand how the strength of our domestic market can help us build greater ownership, attract investment and strengthen our position globally,鈥 he said.

Adekunle added that the conference would examine how local demand could be converted into sustainable creative and economic value.

Since its launch in 2013, NECLive has brought together creative professionals, business leaders, policymakers, investors, brands and emerging talent for conversations around Nigeria鈥檚 entertainment industry. According to the organisers, previous editions have featured more than 500 speakers and panellists, attracted over 100,000 participants and reached audiences in more than 50 countries.

The 2026 edition will explore how creative businesses can build sustainable models around domestic demand, attract investment and strengthen their ability to compete in international markets.

NECLive 2026 will hold on November 12 at Alliance Fran莽aise, Lagos.
