The 10th edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) is scheduled to hold in Lagos from May 18 to 23, 2027, with the grand awards ceremony set for May 23.
The five-day celebration will feature the AFRIMA Diamond Showcase, conferences, media engagements and industry events, as the continental music awards platform marks its 10th edition.
The dates form part of AFRIMA鈥檚 global calendar for the milestone edition, which was unveiled at the 10th AFRIMA Creative Industry Roundtable and Global Calendar Unveiling in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, last week.
According to AFRIMA President/Executive Producer, Mike Dada, the call for entries will open worldwide on October 11, 2026, and close on January 10, 2027.
Collation and pre-screening will take place from January 11 to 14, followed by adjudication from January 15 to 22. The nominees will be announced on January 29, while public voting will run from February 21 to May 21, 2027.
Eligible works must have been produced and released between August 10, 2025 and January 10, 2027.
Ahead of the main event, AFRIMA will embark on the #Road2AFRIMA10Xperience, with engagements planned for London, Windhoek, Cotonou, Nairobi, Accra, Paris, Warri and Port Harcourt.
In Lagos, the AFRIMA 10X Conference, Media Parley and Industry Night will hold on April 14, while university activations and concerts are scheduled between February and April. Dada said the 10th edition would celebrate a decade of African musical excellence while strengthening the awards鈥 contribution to the continent鈥檚 creative economy.
鈥淎frica must not only export culture; Africa must capture the capital and build wealth from its culture,鈥 he said.
AFRIMA was established in 2013 by its International Executive Committee in partnership with the African Union. The awards platform celebrates African music, culture and creative talent and is broadcast to audiences in more than 84 countries.
