Women of Glory Foundation Marks 10th Anniversary, Honours Fidelity Bank CEO, Former Minister of Women Affairs, and Other Distinguished Nigerians

Abuja, Nigeria 鈥 The Women of Glory Foundation (WOG), a non-profit, non-denominational faith-based organisation committed to transforming the lives of women and children through humanitarian service, empowerment, and godly mentorship, has celebrated its 10th anniversary with a grand gala night and awards ceremony in Abuja.

The milestone celebration, held at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, was themed 鈥淎 Decade of Impact: Celebrating Legacy, Building the Future.鈥 The event brought together an esteemed gathering of government officials, diplomats, development partners, civil society organisations, religious leaders, corporate executives, professionals, and community stakeholders.

The anniversary marked ten years of consistent dedication to empowering women, mentoring young girls, supporting vulnerable communities, and promoting leadership, unity, and faith among women across Nigeria and beyond.

As part of the celebration, the Foundation recognised outstanding individuals and organisations whose commitment to humanitarian service, community development, women鈥檚 empowerment, and corporate social responsibility has made remarkable societal impact. Awards presented during the evening included the Community Impact Award, Women Empowerment Champion Award, Humanitarian Service Award, Outstanding Partner Award, Lifetime Impact Award, Corporate Social Impact Award, Community Leadership Award, Corporate Leadership Excellence Award.

Among the distinguished recipients were actress, singer, and philanthropist Mrs. Jennifer Eliogu, who received the Women of Glory Excellence Award, and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, who was honoured with the Corporate Leadership Excellence Award in recognition of her exemplary leadership and commitment to corporate excellence.

Founder of Family Rebuilders Outreach, Mrs. Beatrice Anachuna, and Pastor Dr. Kathy Charles, Founder of Justice Charonghe Family Empowerment, received the Community Impact Award for their outstanding dedication to humanitarian service and life-transforming initiatives.

Former Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, alongside the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, were honoured with the Humanitarian Service Award for their significant contributions to nation-building and public service.

The Women Empowerment Champion Award was presented to the President of the League of Women Voters of Nigeria, Hon. Irene Awunah-Ikyegh, while Founder of Ceeder Seed Foundation, Mrs. Lois Auta, received recognition for her exceptional advocacy and support for vulnerable communities.

In recognition of her spiritual leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to advancing God鈥檚 kingdom through prayer, Apostle Opuaya B. Agha, Founder of When Women Pray International, was also honoured with the Women Empowerment Champion Award.

Speaking at the event, the Founder and President of Women of Glory Foundation, Dr. Nneka Nzewi, reflected on the Foundation鈥檚 journey over the past decade.

鈥淭his 10th anniversary is a unique opportunity to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, acknowledge the lessons learned, and appreciate the countless individuals and organisations who have partnered with us to transform lives,鈥 she said.

Dr. Nzewi reaffirmed the Foundation鈥檚 commitment to expanding opportunities for women and young girls through sustainable empowerment initiatives.

She revealed that the Foundation is currently developing a comprehensive empowerment hub where women will receive vocational training in fashion design, arts and crafts, hairdressing, manicure and pedicure, as well as baseball training, equipping them with practical skills for economic independence.

She further announced that the Women of Glory Foundation has entered into a strategic partnership with a baseball sports agency in the United States and Japan to provide educational scholarships to more than 100 talented young girls. According to her, the initiative will enable beneficiaries to combine academic excellence with sports development, creating pathways to international educational opportunities.

The event was graced by several distinguished personalities, including His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan, former Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja; former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Godwin Omobayo; Dr. (Mrs.) Nkechi Eze, Assistant Inspector-General of Police (Medical), Nigeria Police Force; Ambassador Stephanie Nnadi, Chief Executive Officer of One Percent International; and Ambassador Rebecca Isaac, Chief Executive Officer of Summit Estate, among many other notable guests.

The glamorous evening featured captivating musical performances by P-Strings Live Band, comedy acts, spoken word presentations, and vibrant cultural dance displays, creating a memorable atmosphere as guests celebrated a decade of impact, service, and hope.

As the Women of Glory Foundation enters its next decade, the organisation remains steadfast in its mission to empower women, nurture future leaders, uplift vulnerable communities, and create lasting positive change across Nigeria and beyond.
