First, the statement by Trump is clear.
Muslim Fulanis have been killing Christians in Nigeria. This is a fact.
And if the Government continues to allow this, or fails to deal with it, then Trump is promising to mobilise to come and destroy the killers and save the Christians.

And here we are, people talking crap about all sorts of irrelevant things:

– majority or minority of people that are killed…
– people that have killed others in soludo's place are not muslims
– there is equality of states and US have no right to invade other states
– quotations of various international laws and treaties
– appoint of ambassadors, bla bla bla…
– semantics of definition of genocide…
– conspiracy theories…
– judicial commission of inquiry
– etc

This is all so annoying, because as we speak, Christians are still being killed by muslim fulanis in benue, plateau, kaduna, kebbi, etc.

If victims of the systemic and entrenched marginalization made the case for presidential rotation, the necessity of which Dr. Abati has been forced to finally acknowledge, they would have been accused of gaslighting the polity unpatriotically and of trying to divide the country. Let me see how Omokri, Kayode, Ononuga and others will successfully deny that there is persecution of Christians, and that the fed govt intentionally does little, if anything, to stop it.

You forgot the case of the cartoon of Mohammed in a Scandinavian country for which Northern Muslims rioted and killed innocent Christians and damaged their property. What have various state and fed govts ever done to protect such Christian victims or to prosecute those Muslim malefactors? Have the govts ever failed to prosecute Christian retaliation, mostly in self-defence, against Muslim aggressors? No.

Or, will the govt ever allow Christian criminals to unlawfully openly and brazenly use banned loaded weapons of mass destruction to slaughter, rape, terrorize and sack whole Christian populations and communities?

Dr. Abati made a lot of assertions here that merely highlighted the various conspiracy theories in the space. Obviously, our media houses and journalists have contributed to the confusion in the entire insurgency narrative. They throw more heat than show light. For me the cry of the persecuted, poor and vulnerable Nigerian has finally gone up and help is on the horizon. it does not matter who gives a dying man first aid or relieve. After all, the 'good' Samaritan was not a Jew. He was a despised neighbour to the Jews. Yet he brought succour to the wounded man left dying by the roadside by his assailants.
I personally welcome president Trump to help us solve a problem that has persisted for more than ten years now. I was shocked to hear pastor Wale Adefarasin say we have lived with killings for almost 40 years now and should be accustomed to it and have no need inviting a third party to solve a 'mere' family problem.

Aptly put but don't take these hypocrites for their words, especially, when the statement was provoked in a moment of fear and insecurity!

Even in this article Abati could not even clearly state his stand. He was busy rigmarolling and concocting conspiracy theories and whipping up primordial sentiments even when it was clear the government was complicit in these killings by its failure to protect the citizens overtime.

Our stand is, if it will take Donald Trump to reset this 'disgraced country" to the path of redemption and glory so be it. If his intervention leads otherwise, so be it. Nigeria is overripe for a change.

So, the next move for the Nigerian Government is to ask the United States to clarify what they mean by Christians are being massacred in Nigeria. This is especially so as, regardless of how Abati wants to cut it, Christians have been targeted for violence in our not-too-distant past.

People shouted that they pageant cannot be held on their religious holiday, so it was moved to December. Then they shouted that they do not want scantily clad women in Abuja, so miss world cancelled the swim suit event. Then they said that they don't want the event in Abuja, period. As the debate was progressing, on the 16th of November, 2002, Isioma Daniel, of Thisday Newspaper, wrote what she felt was an innocuous essay about the controversy, and all hell broke loose. Despite the fact that Thisday fired Isioma and apologized for her essay, Christians were targeted in the North. Thisday office, in Kaduna, was burnt to smithereens. And 100s of Christians, who had never even met Isioma before, were killed in cold blood

On the 26th of November, 2002, a group in Zamfara State issued a fatwa on Isioma. Which was followed by the sitting deputy governor of Zamfara State announcing: "Like Salman Rushdie, the blood of Isioma Daniel can be shed. It is binding on all Muslims wherever they are to consider the killing of the writer as a religious duty"

The point is that, like good parents, we should not rush to judgment. We should ask for clarification from the U.S. Government. On a lighter note, whenever PBT meets with Donald Trump he should not speak English during the news conference. He should speak only Yoruba and have an interpreter translate it to English for him
