That is what journalist do, if the presidency refuses, then you let the people know. Not writing all these conjectures you do in the newspaper. Tinubu is continuing from where Buhari stopped, Nigeria has unwittingly created an imperial president, who sees himself bigger than the country.

Can the people of Middle Belt muster enough courage to hang on Trump’s coattails for the much needed liberation from their former liberators who have now turned to persecutors?? Where is Yakubu Jack Gowon in all this? I doubt if he’ll take it kindly with Trump’s “affront” on the “indivisible and indissoluble entity”??

The middlebeltans are a proof that Stoclholm syndrome is real. Another group in Nigeria where this is very pronounced are the deltans with their representative on this backpase UmuPHC displaying multiple or split personality traits

Nigeria needs a big bang followed by a reset. Maybe we will get there via Trump. The people from the middlebelt, this is the correct time to protest these incessant attacks. The government is scared shitless.

Yes, the shoe is now on the other leg! For the sake of those having selective amnesia or memory loss let's go back in time on how APC brought Jihadists Fulani herders from the Sahelian and West Coast all in the name of accommodating our diasporan brothers (El-Rufai) but ostensibly it was to make Jonathan's government ungovernable and oust him.

"A former APC chieftain, Abubakar Kawu Baraje, confessed that the bandits decimating security in the North-West and North-Central (including his own Kwara State) were imported by some leaders from neighbouring countries to fight former President Goodluck Jonathan if the 2015 elections were “rigged”. They soon turned into Frankenstein Monsters which the Buhari regime tried but failed to subdue; the Tinubu administration has so far not been able to get rid of them."

The fallout of the invitation of Jihadists Fulani herders renamed bandits is what the nation is suffering today. And may suffer for a long time if nothing drastic is done to stem the tempestuous tide. Those who now shout "Trump" should look at the karmic mirror, and know they unwittingly brought this upon the country. Karma is indeed a bitch!.

Even yesterday there was another attack despite the warning by DJT.
There is no farmer header crisis, what we have is a situation where APC imported terrorists are guided by soldiers of the Nigerian Army to kill and take over land of Christian communities. If govt we're not complicite why not arrest the foreigners who have ransacked the Christian communities. These people commuted murder but the army punish the Nigerians but reward the terrorists and foreigners.
There will be reward for all actions even for Adefaratin and others who ignored the truth.
I foresee the communities fighting back with USA support. The war will be long and brutal. It will lead to the end of this dysfunctional State.
Your narrative will help the president continue with his APC foreign terrorist campaign.
Your position is both stupid and unintelligent, asking a party that imported terrorists in 2014 to help them in 2015 election to solve the problem.
The continued killing will finally drag America into this mess and it will really get messy. I pray the marines come themselves and not send weapons and trsining to the locals.
as for the youruba pastors who think that by denying a genocide that they are supporting their brother, you have already done Christianity too much damage but it wouldn't continue and they already know.

When will you learn? If you are not planning a coup you want a war or a military government or for a white man to destabilise your country. This is your own way to build a country.?

Really, it’s time for patriots, is it? Pray tell, what exactly are we supposed to be patriotic to? The ‘disgraced country’? The post colonial contraption,? Britain’s last jungle stand?
Petropatriotism maybe, as coined by the lamented William Norris; no person in his right mind can be patriotic to Nigerarea as presently constituted. Its simply impossible.
If you insist on that, you are indeed a scoundrel, like Catalyst penned above.

This is probably the only reasonable thing in this his piece.
And Abati spent the rest of the write-up doing just that, failing at the end of the day to call a spade a spade.

First, the statement by Trump is clear.
Muslim Fulanis have been killing Christians in Nigeria. This is a fact.
And if the Government continues to allow this, or fails to deal with it, then Trump is promising to mobilise to come and destroy the killers and save the Christians.
This is the simple message from Trump.

And here we are, people talking crap about all sorts of irrelevant things:
– muslims are also being killed
– majority or minority of people that are killed…
– people that have killed others in soludo's place are not muslims
– there is equality of states and US have no right to invade other states
– quotations of various international laws and treaties
– appoint of ambassadors, bla bla bla…
– semantics of definition of genocide…
– conspiracy theories…
– judicial commission of inquiry
– etc

This is all so annoying, because as we speak, Christians are still being killed by muslim fulanis in benue, plateau, kaduna, kebbi, etc.
These are human beings who have rights to life like all of us.

So, instead of responding to prevent the next Christian that is going to be killed, the Government is talking about people demarking nigeria, and opposition working against government, and US using a wrong statistics, etc.

And a group of people are even talking about foreigners trying to divide nigeria, when they themselves have been champions of division and perpetrators of the so called north vs the rest of nigeria. They want a judicial commission of inquiry to start an unnecessary waste of time and public resources while the killings continue…!

Look, the prayer of the Christians in Nigeria is that Trump should send in the US military to save them from the muslim killers if the Nigerian Government and all their agents and sycophants will not protect them!.

If victims of the systemic and entrenched marginalization made the case for presidential rotation, the necessity of which Dr. Abati has been forced to finally acknowledge, they would have been accused of gaslighting the polity unpatriotically and of trying to divide the country. Let me see how Omokri, Kayode, Ononuga and others will successfully deny that there is persecution of Christians, and that the fed govt intentionally does little, if anything, to stop it.

It only became mellowed when you cared to make some admissions.

The question is? Patriotism to whom & by whom? Those you have fed sorrow & blood since 1966 & counting? Those you have fed their urine & shit in the mouth for close to 7 decades?

I will not bother to talk much now. All I will assure you & any other person reading me is this: even if this fails, even if it comes to pass without any result, the liberation of a people is still on the way. And that is an entirely different package from whatever is afoot. You or anyone else can take me for a fool. But it will come pass before our eyes, at the longest, in the next 7 years!

You forgot the case of the cartoon of Mohammed in a Scandinavian country for which Northern Muslims rioted and killed innocent Christians and damaged their property. What have various state and fed govts ever done to protect such Christian victims or to prosecute those Muslim malefactors? Have the govts ever failed to prosecute Christian retaliation, mostly in self-defence, against Muslim aggressors? No.

Or, will the govt ever allow Christian criminals to unlawfully openly and brazenly use banned loaded weapons of mass destruction to slaughter, rape, terrorize and sack whole Christian populations and communities?

The Nigerian govts is guilty of the charges. Yes, innocent Muslims are also victims, but not at the hands of Christians.

What do the Americans want? What does Trump want? Is this an attempt at regime change in Nigeria? Ahead of the 2027 general elections, is it that Trump does not want Tinubu in power?" -Reuben Abati

Dr. Abati made a lot of assertions here that merely highlighted the various conspiracy theories in the space. Obviously, our media houses and journalists have contributed to the confusion in the entire insurgency narrative. They throw more heat than show light. For me the cry of the persecuted, poor and vulnerable Nigerian has finally gone up and help is on the horizon. it does not matter who gives a dying man first aid or relieve. After all, the 'good' Samaritan was not a Jew. He was a despised neighbour to the Jews. Yet he brought succour to the wounded man left dying by the roadside by his assailants.
I personally welcome president Trump to help us solve a problem that has persisted for more than ten years now. I was shocked to hear pastor Wale Adefarasin say we have lived with killings for almost 40 years now and should be accustomed to it and have no need inviting a third party to solve a 'mere' family problem.

Aptly put but don't take these hypocrites for their words, especially, when the statement was provoked in a moment of fear and insecurity!

Were they not the same people who promoted sovereign national conference, regional autonomy and fiscal federalism during the Abacha days? Now they're chorusing one indivisible and indissoluble entity because they're in charge of the feeding trough?

Even in this article Abati could not even clearly state his stand. He was busy rigmarolling and concocting conspiracy theories and whipping up primordial sentiments even when it was clear the government was complicit in these killings by its failure to protect the citizens overtime.

Our stand is, if it will take Donald Trump to reset this 'disgraced country" to the path of redemption and glory so be it. If his intervention leads otherwise, so be it. Nigeria is overripe for a change.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
That is so true

So, the next move for the Nigerian Government is to ask the United States to clarify what they mean by Christians are being massacred in Nigeria. This is especially so as, regardless of how Abati wants to cut it, Christians have been targeted for violence in our not-too-distant past.

As an example, as soon as it was announced that Abuja was going to host the Miss World Pageant in 2002, it was one thing after another. People shouted that they pageant cannot be held on their religious holiday, so it was moved to December. Then they shouted that they do not want scantily clad women in Abuja, so miss world cancelled the swim suit event. Then they said that they don't want the event in Abuja, period. As the debate was progressing, on the 16th of November, 2002, Isioma Daniel, of Thisday Newspaper, wrote what she felt was an innocuous essay about the controversy, and all hell broke loose. Despite the fact that Thisday fired Isioma and apologized for her essay, Christians were targeted in the North. Thisday office, in Kaduna, was burnt to smithereens. And 100s of Christians, who had never even met Isioma before, were killed in cold blood

On the 26th of November, 2002, a group in Zamfara State issued a fatwa on Isioma. Which was followed by the sitting deputy governor of Zamfara State announcing: "Like Salman Rushdie, the blood of Isioma Daniel can be shed. It is binding on all Muslims wherever they are to consider the killing of the writer as a religious duty"

The point is that, like good parents, we should not rush to judgment. We should ask for clarification from the U.S. Government. On a lighter note, whenever PBT meets with Donald Trump he should not speak English during the news conference. He should speak only Yoruba and have an interpreter translate it to English for him

Many World leaders, from President Putin of Russia to President Xi of China, can speak English better than Abati, but they always speak their native language during news conferences. One additional advantage of PBT speaking Yoruba, in the news conference, is that if Trump tries to embarrass him as he has embarrassed other African leaders, PBT can let Trump have it: "Olórí Burúkú, Òde, Oloshi, Olodo, Agbaya, Oniranu, Opunu, Apoda…"

And when Trumps asks, "what did he say?" the interpreter will respond politely, in exquisite English: "He said you are doing a fine job remodeling the White House"
