Guess those who campaigned for, & installed Buhari, & eventually never raised an eyebrow about his NEPA certificate? Again, Peter Mbah's certificates were proven to have been forged. But Abati who came to project Nnaji's case two days ago on this forum had argued then that what is required for office is a secondary school certificate, & hence Mbah was covered. That was merely because Mbah is a pro-Tinubu governor, a Yoruba governor in Igboland. (BTW Nnaji can rely on the same argument).

It is also good a thing you talked about "electing certified crooks into critical public offices", because I find it galling & extremely difficult to stomach, that people are getting obsessed with Nnaji's certificate (petty thievery), whereas a criminal heroin trafficker of an international dimension, together with a terrorism sponsor were rewarded with the presidency & vice respectively through a fraudulent electoral process (AGAINST the principle of zoning & the principle of religious sensitivity). In the face of that incomparable atrocity anybody behind bars for ANY offense is being victimized.

This brings us to the demolition of buildings, that were erected with fake building approval, by the Lagos State Government.

It has been sad to see Lagos State Government demolishing buildings erected with fake building approval in the recent past. Which causes the owners of the demolished buildings to lose between ₦200 million to ₦400 million ($134,000 to $268,000), or more, when their property is demolished. Just think about it. ₦200 million to ₦400 million (that over 70% of Nigerians will not spend in the lifetime), the property owners entire lifetime savings, gone with the wind. Just like that

You cannot blame the Lagos State Government for enforcing its zoning laws and cracking down on people who erected their property with fake building approvals. But they are not going far enough. How about the Lagos State Government Officials that issued those fake building approvals in the first place ? Are they being arrested, prosecuted, and punished with significant prison sentences ?

You will expect that if a property owner is punished, severely, by the demolition of his ₦200 million to ₦400 million home that they built with a fake building approval, the government official that issued that fake approval will also be punished, severely, by being arrested, prosecuted, and given a significant prison sentence, if found liable. If that happens 4 to 5 times, there will be no more construction without a proper building approval in Lagos
