There's a lot to criticize about President Trump, especially on style. On policy he's doing very, very well. He's achieving results. This time one year ago, the Southern border was completely open, ILLEGAL immigrants were pouring across at the rate of TENS OF THOUSANDS per day and claiming asylum. Chinese people were about 5 to 10 percent of these migrants coming across the Southern border. All the way from China!

The Democrats and President Biden insisted they needed NEW LAWS to contain the invasion. That turned out to be a LIE. With no new laws, using existing laws on the books, President Trump secured the border and within WEEKS illegal crossing were down to almost ZERO. That's bold, efficient action.

President Trump is wrong to publicly criticize Mr Powell, the Chair of the Federal Reserve because that undermines Fed independence. He could have left Ms Harris's Secret Service security in place for the period authorized by the former President Biden.

On the whole, on balance, Mr Trump is far and away a better President than Bush 2, Obama and Biden. The 2026 Midterm Elections will show if the people of the USA agree or not. Have a good day, Sir.

Yes, Obi might not be President and that will be for the reason you so eloquently articulated on this forum years ago – because he is Igbo and is qualified. Per your logic, if you base such things on merit, Igbos will dominate. I could not agree more with you. The result of the opposite is there for all to see.

Meantime, various stakeholders are babysitting your idol, Trump, lest he does more damage than they can manage. The Trump package is unfolding by the day, and I hope you are staying tuned.

You campaigned for Muhammadu Buhari in 2015. That shows you know nothing about anything that will make Nigeria a better country. Go and sleep.

Peter Obi is a fake candidate. He's President of biafra since Namdi Kanu is still in prison !!!

Here's news for you – Tinubu will release Nnamdi Kanu and garner plenty of Igbo votes for 2027. Yes, an Igbo – Yoruba alliance is in the offing. Hail biafra!!!

On the contrary, one does not supersede the other . Rather both can coexist . It’s really in the context one approaches it . I hold that Tinubu is illegitimate and hence i will not accept a national honour or will i honour a dinner invitation ato dine with Tinubu at Aso Rock . On the flip side, Tinubu is the legal president of Nigeria as affirmed by the apex court. Not only am i obliged to accept this fact as valid, I am also duty bound as a citizen to accept as legal any act done by Tinubu as president of Nigeria.

So Tinubu may be illegitimate ( in my opinion) , nevertheless there is noting wrong in defending his policies as the legal president of Nigeria especially when these policies are the right policies and align with my positions on the named issues .

you sense of reasoning has always been foolish and illogical.
1. obi is desperate yet tinubu and atiku are not despoerate. you must be living in an alternate universe.
2. when jonathan was there, tinubu joined with the north to kick him out. he and you did not remember northern hegemony then.
3. have you ever considered that at this time it will be too little to late for the SE to produce the president. if this consideration is not taken why should north south matter?

What Nigeria needs desperately is a President who can transform the country from mere rhetoric to strength, unity, stability, safety, security, prosperity and relevance in the world. If such a president does one term and performs brilliantly, it should mean nothing to the voters from everywhere to reelect him/her whether s/he comes from Kaura Namoda or Buguma. The current ethnic identity politics will take Nigeria to only one place – the bottom rung of global relevance if not outright perdition.

In one breath, you said Tinubu is an illegitimate president. In another breath, you said he is the president by all legal means. The use of the word legal connotes acceptance by the law and supercede your illegitimacy claim.
Meanwhile, you have suddenly become an avid defender of an illegitimate president. Confusing!

Who is talking about federalism here? I never mentioned nor implied it!

What I was referring to is the perpetual tendency of PSEUDO FEDERALISTS to display double standards, including on such small issues as turn-by-turn, owing to their biases. Yes, I meant that they would ordinarily pretend that such matters as turn-by-turn is irrelevant, except in situations, as at the present moment, when they use supporting it as a means of fending off those they have things against.

And if I may ask, going by turn-by-turn, whose turn should it be? And if you believe in southern turn, why were you against Jonathan? If you argue your position owed to poor performance, what happened in the case of Tinubu whom you have always yelled here against?

Indeed , and in truth , there ought not to be any debate about north & south from someone like me who is an Awoist and consequently a full subscriber to the federalist concept well exposed and promoted by Chief Obafemi Awolowo. For us Nigeria is one country and we are all Nigerians even though we have ethnic , religious and regional affiliations.

On the contrary , the matter at hand is not about federalism . Rather it is about the smaller issues of political alliances and permutations to win a presidential election. Therefore the discussion on the matter must certainly be about historical antecedents and factors that will shape the outcome of such proceedings, and not abstract issues of federalism. This is even more so since the premise of Peter Obi and Atiku’s vow of one term is laid on the alter of the north/south rotation of the presidency.

So why not entirely subscribing to the notion of turn-by-turn presidency which is rather undemocratic and unconstitutional, one cannot really join the argument and reason well enough without acknowledging and conceding to the obvious fact that the regions and rotation of the presidency are both critical factors to win a presidential contest.

These facts existed and have well shaped past elections before Peter Obi arrived on the stage . The same set of facts are now invoked by Peter Obi . Invariably the concept of rotational presidency will remain with us for long , perhaps unless most Nigerians can choose enlightenment over parochialism; Federalism over regionalism ; and being Awoist instead of individualism of Obidient and no ideology . Apparently that time is not today !

Obviously , PBAT is overtly nepotistic and he stand condemned for this !

Tinubu like other presidents in the past have giving his friends and associates from all regions and states federal appointments while the ‘ juicy ‘ jobs seem to go to his guys from SW.

Anyway , the original issue wasn’t about Tinubu or nepotism hence it wasn’t really necessary to bring it up .

To me Tinubu remains an illegitimate president and I will always see him as such . What is however obvious is that Tinubu is the president of Nigeria by all legal means . Like a child born out of wedlock, while the legitimacy of his birth and title can be debated and challenged continuously, the fact that such a person is not e legal entity with legal authority is not debatable.

In assessing Tinubu as president and knocking or praising his policies is based on the acceptance of the legal fact that he is president . Apparently, the child of an illegitimate parent can either be ugly or beautiful.

President Tinubu whether illegitimate or legal has enacted many policies and acted more decisively on some state matters consistent with my positions , hence my praises for him . He equally got my knocks when he did poorly too.

Lastly , you must understand that it is the inalienable right of Atiku and every other Nigerian to run for election every election time , north/south or rational agreement notwithstanding.

How many times have Atiku run? What was he doing in 2019 and was the incumbent president from the South? Buhari started running in 2003 and continued until he won. He ran against Jonathan in 2011, alright, but he would still have run (as he did) had Yar'adua been alive to run again that year. Singling out Obi for his ambition is not a surprise. The surprise would have been you treating him like every other candidate.

And suddenly, Tinubu has become an incumbent worthy of the superlatives you just heaped on him, the same person you consistently take to the cleaners on this forum to the extent of recommending him for impeachment. Really?

Who told you that serving for one term is unconstitutional? While the constitution provides for two terms per candidate, it neither mandates it nor prohibits any candidate who chooses to do so from serving only one term.

It is as much for Tinubu, the SWAGA band & every other interest that was/is involved, as it is for the oracles. Tinubu & SWAGA knew (& know) Tinubu shouldn't have run in 2023. Someone said that the cause of the war is the preparation for the war. The oracles wouldn't have imposed him if he (Tinubu), SWAGA & SWAGA press didn't present him. It was not due totally to the oracles, who, by the way, will all be gone or completely irrelevant in 10 years, with whatever legacy they are creating today!

We will triumph! And the world will see it!

It is really interesting to see how various clever and ingenious attempts are always unleashed to redraw and reformulate the political equation of a balanced presidential tenancy between the North and South since Lord Lugard. This is especially so when an identified presidential aspirant and assumed candidate of a section of the country is favoured to stand for the election as president with greater chance of victory based on the proposed scheme of zoning/rotation. This is particularly so when some aggrieved elite have decided that the incumbent is undesirable as president and must therefore be denied a second term since impeachment is virtually impossible.

Curiously, this presidency hubris is always the case whenever a president from the south is in Aso Rock and he immediately begins to make some 'juicy' appointments in government unfavourable to northern elites as well as introduce some reforms that are against the interests of the northern oligarchy and exposes their leadership incompetency and the prevailing negative socio-economic indices of the region more. The greatest surprise in all these is that there is always a clutch of the political elite of the south that are readily conscripted into the scheme by the northern elite and easily offer themselves as willing tools to propagate the hubris and bring down the southern president perhaps for their own gains. This was the case with OBJ in 2002-2003 ; GEJ in 2014 -2015 ; and now, PBAT currently !

This is why it's so disappointing to hear Peter Obi's one-tenure pledge, and GEJ's rumoured interest in contesting the 2027 presidency. While its unarguable that it is the fundamental right of both individuals to contest the presidency, the question however is to whose interest will their ambition serve most under the circumstances – Nigeria, aggrieved northern elite or self ?

Clearly, the interest of Nigeria is not served when barely 6 months after the swearing of PBAT, Peter Obi and northern elements started stirring and agitating the polity unnecessarily in a hasty quest to commence the politics of 2027 presidential elections thereby unsettling and distracting the government. This is even as the incumbent PBAT is busy on-folding groundbreaking and desirables policies promised by all presidential candidates in the 2023 elections. Furthermore, the interest of Nigeria cannot be well served by the certainty of a single tenure each for two different successive administrations at the helms of affairs of the country. Understandably, between policy conception , execution and outcomes should span close to 36 months. So why hasten to scheme to change a presidency whose policies are delivery the goods , or why give up a presidency when the policies of your presidency is providing the goods ?

With Peter Obi one can easily understand his position now . He is overly ambitious ; extremely opportunistic ; and above all, Peter Obi is ever desperate. All these attributes of the man showed very much in the run up to 2023 presidential election when he sensed the mood of the country was very much against the north and Fulani, and chose to break off from Atiku whom he contested on the same ticket in the 2019 presidential election. As predicted Obi's gamble only splitted the PDP base , and the rest became history. It is to be recalled that Atiku very well pledged to do only one term ( same as Obi is promising now) if elected after Buhari and he equally maintained that he will abide by the zoning agreement if only PDP zoned the presidential ticket to SE. Imagine the fortunes of Peter Obi with Atiku at his side had he chosen to remain in PDP rather than his unforced error of decamping to relatively unknown Labour Party and without a grand plan to win the 2023 presidential election on his own ?

The converse is however the case with GEJ. In all instances GEJ never showed desperation for office of president. In every case GEJ only exercised his fundamental right to aspire to the highest office and contest for president. When eventually he lost in his reelection bid in 2015 , even under questionable circumstances, he chose to call it a day in the larger interest of Nigeria. Obviously those that ganged up to remove him did not have the interest of Nigeria at heart- it was all self interest, and the country paid dearly for it. It is in this imperative of the larger interest of Nigeria that GEJ should reconsider his participation in 2027 presidential race. More importantly too, GEJ had 5 years in office and did not achieve much , so what can he achieve in 4 years if elected in 2027 ?

Above all, the question Peter Obi and GoodLuck Jonathan must ask themselves are : Why are northern elites always hellbent on denying a southern president of a second tenure in office using the flimsiest of all excuses ?

Meanwhile, these same elites defended the presidency of a very sick Yar Adua to the very end of the late president's last breath, just as the north defended Buhari all through his ruinous first term and gave him resounding victory at the polls to continue the devastation of Nigeria till 2023 .

I suppose the best option is to call the bluff of the northern elite and stand with Asiwaju till 2031 If Peter Obi and GEJ are indeed wise !
