Since the problem went to Season 2, the elders have not even made any attempt to solve the problem. Crises mean free money for them to offer support.

Wike didn't do anything in Rivers State, for 8 years he only built 8 flyovers, he was not paying pensioners and gratuity, he was working for himself building Restopark filling stations and hypercity his super markets , he became a political tyrant, he never made Rivers State enjoyable one

You are still trying albeit unsuccessfully to defend the judicial heist of 2023 elections via calling Abuja a state

But rather than place blame where it belongs, this hypocrite is giving culpability to the victim. This is while the famous "consciences of the nation" are keeping studied silence in the face of incompetence, nepotism, corruption, criminality & dictatorship!

This hypocrite's annoyance is because Fubara is standing up to the dug dealer, Tinubu & his protégé, Wike. His pain is because all this all amounts to destabilization for Tinubu. Therefore, in his frustration he is "instigating" Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in Rivers….

There's nothing more to say other than leave you the Bible quote in Psalm 49: 12 & 20: "In his riches man lacks wisdom, he is like the beasts that are destroyed". Goaded on by fellow nepotistic Afonjas, the drug dealer, in his arrogance with power may try anything. But it remains imposing a state of emergency on Rivers!

We are not in the same ship o o!! For long we have been made onlookers, not as a matter of choice, but by a carefully planned instalmental but incremental exclusion and subjugation.
They felt we were the Jonah and jettisoned us into the belly of a willing whale so that they will have a smooth sail.
Unfortunately, and because of their predisposition to always shoot themselves in the foot, they end up with blind navigators. Hence, the ship remains rudderless and forever tossed around by turbulent waves! Jonah, was lucky after all.

Please throw more light on the phrase " not the same Level" Because you guys are confusing me and dragging me insane.

What has Level got to do with governance and public service. That one is elected to serve does not bestow to him the ultimate superiority over anybody.

If you juxtapose the Father/Son relationship, it is the son who should be greater than the father futuristically having graduated from the erstwhile powerful father, now frail.

Wike is a frail man who is delusional but believe he is well.

Sarah, you're spot-on. Just as the President kept the Ministry of Petroleum as 'Minister', he could also rule FCT directly as Governor or Minister, depending of the title he assumes!

Where do you guys even get off attempting to justify Wike's wholesale interference with the governance of Rivers State – because he was the godfather that made Fubara Governor? Didn't Mr. Amaechi ''make'' him, Wike, governor? Didn't Dr. Odili ''make'' Amaechi governor? Why didn't any of those two erstwhile governors insist on running the state by proxy while making powerless marionettes of the successors they had chosen to ''make'' governors. It's actually silly of Reuben to suggest a presidential warning or threat of emergency rule against Fubara. The danger in that disingenuous suggestion is that PBAT might be tempted to think it's a smart idea that fits into his 2027 ambition. A counter suggestion here is in order – Mr. president, don't even think about it, unless as both president and Oil Minister, you're keen on resurrecting militancy in the creeks of the Niger Delta. Mr. Wike has eroded the electoral clout and value he had in 2023. All he is right now is vacuous nuisance, he can't deliver Rivers in 2027. It's time to let him go, he has fast burned out his usefulness. A word they say, is enough for the wise – Wike should top the list of Ministers to be dropped from your cabinet.

Interesting debate

Despite the fact that executive and legislative powers of the FCT resides with the President and the National Assembly respectively, the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (CFRN) looks upon Abuja as if it were one of the federating units.

Section 299 of the CFRN provides that "The provisions of this constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as if it were one of the States of the Federation". Many decisions of the Supreme Court, from Fawehinmi v. Babangida to the PBT's last election tribunal case have endorsed this view.

That is why Abuja has its own Senator, Member of the House of Representatives, Magistrate Courts, State High courts, Local Government Areas, FAAC allocation, and Internally Generated Revenue

As it relates the significance of the administrative units (if you don't like the term federating units) that Wike has been in charge of, in his political career, the FCT has the third highest internally generated revenue in Nigeria. And its landmass (7,315 km² ) is bigger than the landmass of Enugu State, Akwa Ibom, Ekiti, Abia, Ebonyi, Imo, Anambra and Lagos States.

So, Wike should forget about Fulbara, because they are not on the same level

At the end of the day Fubara’s intrasigence cannot be totally divorced from the wealth of River State. If his mission is to develop River State, we will soon know the truth.

Thank you for calling out Reuben Abati’s compromised advice to Tinubu to threaten Gov Fubara with a declaration of a state of emergency.

Unbelievable!

The heavy-handedness and godfatherism you condemned Wike for (at least in this piece), and praised Fubara for demystifying and rendering inconsequential the 'ike' in Wike, is what you want Tinubu to deploy?
Where in our constitution does the president derive the power to 'call erring governors to order' or wield the headmaster's bigstick as the case may be?

When all things are considered, no one can fully exculpate Tinubu from the unsavoury, if not dangerous political development in Rivers State being that Wike, a main instigator of the crisis, is a Minister under his government.
Thus, asking Tinubu to rein in Fubara with threat of state-of- emergency puts both Tinubu and Wike on a high moral pedestal while Fubara is the villain. This train of thought is pure bias and an attempt at beatification of Kingpins of this infamy.

However, the fire that Wike promised he will ignite, and has ignited in Rivers State is one that has the potential to consume everyone including Tinubu and Wike himself, if not handled carefully and urgently too.
Chroniclers are already drawing from the 'Operation Wetie', the Wild Wild West, scenerio in Western Region in 1965 that led to the January 15, 1966 coup detat. As we say, history does not really repeat itself but men do repeat history and then blame history for repeating itself.

Wike might yet be Tinubu's Achilles heel. He might be the excess cargo that will eventually capsize this tottering ship if not jettisoned. Do I really care??

CORRECTION: FCT is NOT a Federating entity. It is 'owned' and administered by Government of Federation.
The President is in-fact the 'Governor' of FCT.
Since 1999, the incumbent President has delegated his duties on FCT to a 'Minister for FCT'
Our constitution does NOT require a President to do so.
In fact a President could as well rule FCT directly if he so wishes.

And Wike, has been in charge of Rivers State and the FCT. The subnationals with the second and third highest internally generated revenue, respectively. Not only that, Wike did a fine job as Governor of Rivers State. And he is doing a great job as FCT Minister

Rumor has it that during Wike's tenure as River's State Governor, Port Harcourt was fun. Second only to Lagos. But now, PH is no longer as enjoyable as it used to be

Nevertheless, Wike should forget about Fulbara and focus on the good job that he is doing in the FCT. Especially as Fulbara and Wike are not on the same level. As the Igbo adage goes. Never fight a mad man, because it will be difficult to decipher who is mad and who is sane between the two of you
