for example: GEJ gave a just electoral process and though he lost Jonathan, continues to enjoy peace in his retirement. Nigerians on the other hand, don’t enjoy peace because of their poor choices in Buhari & Co.

Any responsible columnist and media must avoid rationalizing and justifying the outcome of the 11 March presidential election in Nigeria . Rather , what journalists need to do is a forensic interrogation of the conduct of the polls by INEC to unveil the truth about what really transpired after the close of polls on Election Day . This is what Nigerians deserve , not some ‘notes’ on making sense of anything out of an obviously murky and generally acclaimed flawed election .

No matter how it’s viewed , the 2023 presidential election suffers the credibility test . Therefore it’s quite difficult to draw valid conclusions from the outcomes. When a child is illegitimate; the paternity must surely be suspicious until sufficiently proven by DNA test !

The validity of the result and consequential deductions from the presidential polls will continue to be doubtful until INEC provides a cogent and verifiable reason for the failure to upload the results of polling units to the Irev from the BVAS as required , directed and promised by all statutes related to elections . It shouldn’t really be a difficult task to explain why and how technology failed . Science is not politics ! The silence of INEC is quite insulting, just as the impotence of the FG to act on the matter confirms a conspiracy.

Two things that the presidential election affirmed , however , are the clear facts that first , the population of Nigeria is no where near the 200m mark as official claimed considering the voter turnout in the most excitable election ever held in Nigeria . The other is that the APC ruling party is basically a very incompetent, corrupt and criminal organizations masquerading as a political party going from how the party allowed the presidential election to be sabotaged and remained indifferent and mute to the hues and cries of citizens, including the damage done to the image of the country globally. You should write ‘ notes ‘ on these two .

Thank you WA for your clinical analysis of the outcome of the 25th February elections and for debunking the bogey being bandied in some vocal quarters that they were the worst in our electoral history.
It will be interesting to see the critique to your submission by the usual suspects and whether it will be within the confines of empirical facts and not simply abusive language and denialism.
