If i were Atiku, i would have used this incident in a more positive way to win more souls for his election. What if he had told the press that he complied with the mandatory requirement that applies to the situation because he believes in strong institution , and not strong individuals .
Is PDP or Atiku telling us that should he win, this procedure will be waved for BIG men and bring us back to the PDP days we rejected in 2015.

It is about time PDP and Atiku start to focus on issues and not shake the table with this kind of non issues. All press releases so far is just noise and distractions.

Thanks for your insight response. But I needed answer from the questions I posted. Has Atiku being subjected to this type of search before, maybe, when he was in apc? What about Tinubu and other vips who travel in private jets, are they subjected to this kind of search? I am not saying that Atiku or OBJ should not be searched, after no one is above the law of the land, but has such searches being applied before? If no, why the search now.

The search was routine and it was normal especially the election period we are now. Private jet occupiers are always accorded respect by the security agencies on arrival or departure due to nature VVIPs onboard. The rule is that the Passport of the passengers should be physically presented to Immigration for stamping after been certified by DSS that the owner did constitute security threat or being on watch list. The Customs also performs their duty by checking the luggage’s to ensure that the luggage did not contain dutiable items and that the passenger did not conceal any foreign currency to the threshold of what can constitute money laundering. NDLEA also performs their role by checking the luggage and the aircraft to ensure that Illegal drugs are not been ferry in or out of the country. All these processes listed above take times before it can be completed especially when the passengers are more than two in the aircraft. Usually, Security agencies side step these processes listed above to fast track the passenger due to nature of VVIPs involve and most of these VVIPs are already use to it been side step. That is the reason searching Atiku now becomes an issue, because it is very unusual for security agencies to perform above listed responsibiliies on VVIPs.

As the elections draw nearer expect this similar cries from opposition because security agencies will like to carry out this search to impress their bosses especially on opposition politicians. Also, in a time like this, Federal Government use to set up what we call special task force which comprises Customs,DSS,NDLEA and Immigration who carry out this special duties because they will not be reporting to their bosses at the Airport but at the headquarters.
