In reply to umungwume. What is the democracy? Please do not repeat the Greek 10 century definition for me. I do not know your age but this is exactly what led to truncation of Nigeria first civilian government. You can go research it yourself. Senate president was elected as a member of majority party which is the normal procedure in democracy system, so why should that of Nigeria be different. Saraki can not have it both ways and he should not be allowed to have it his way. Therefore, he should resign and let the majority select another leader. If he refuse to respect himself and do the honorable thing, then he does not deserve any respect from the APC senators. No legistalive house in any advance countries would accept it.

Saraki and Ekeremadu can not preside over the Senate since they both belong to minority party. PDP only talk about democracy when it not in their favor. There is nothing wrong to resign as that what normal practice in the rest of the world democracy. USA statement about impunity is not all about locking people up. This is a classic example of selfish politics. PDP as minority want to control agenda for the majority. No, APC should not allow it and if the NASS has to closed down until majority got it way so be it. PDP action is typical African mentally whereby a president will refuse to leave after losing an election. APC should shut down the senate until the idiot called Saraki do the right thing. So, what is purpose of majority when minorIty will be in control of policy in a democracy system?

What is democracy to you? the president of the senate is been selected by senators and winner is by simple majority and he can be removed by senators alone by 2/3 majority no more no less. So if when they resume the senators call for his impeachment and got the required number, no problem but for anyone outside the senate to be calling for his resignation or that he will be removed by force is a total trash and undemocratic.
